Refund policy

RETURNS AND REFUNDS

 

At Philosophy we hope you love your  purchases but in case you decide you don't we offer a replacement (size or colour subject to stock availability), a store credit voucher or a cash refund via EFT or Payfast within 15 days of purchase.  Refunds are offered on all items EXCEPT underwear, swimwear, all lifestyle items and SALE items (this is in accordance with your statutory rights). Returns on garments are conditional to the state in which it is returned (unworn, packaging/labels in tact etc).

Regrettably we can not offer returns or exchanges on international orders - the reason being that South Africa customs charges us duty to bring the item back into the country and it becomes an unjustifiably costly process.

Please note that refunds are only given for the cost of the item and not for shipping. In the case that you qualified for free shipping, an amount of R110 for shipping will be deducted from your refund amount. 

In the case of an exchange, the replacement shipping cost is R 120.00 payable before we send it.

The cost of return shipping is at your expense and refunds will only be processed once we receive the item in good condition. *NB : it is your responsibility to return the item to us by reliable and recorded delivery. In the case that the return item is lost by the service you have used to return it back to us, we can not process the refund.

 

Please follow these instructions for returns and refunds;

1. Email us orders@philosophyonline.co.za to tell us you will be exchanging or returning your purchase and give a brief detail why (wrong size, doesn't fit, doesn't suit etc) and let us know if you would like an exchange, store credit or cash refund.

 

2. Package with all original tags and bags included, address and send to:

If the original tags and bags are not included with the return we will deduct a fee of R50 from your refund amount to cover the cost of these.

*If you would like us to process the Return for you with our courier company, we will do this for a fee of R150 (includes return shipping + admin fee). Please let us know when you email us with the exchange/return info (step 1)

 

3. On receipt of your return in good order we will let you know and process your refund as you have requested.

If you are in Franschhoek, you are also welcome to come and make the return/exchange at our store as stated above during our opening hours:

Mon - Fri: 9am - 5pm

Sat: 10am - 2pm

*Please allow 5 - 10 working days for the refund to process via EFT and Payfast (this is the amount of time they stipulate)

 

DAMAGED ITEMS:

We undergo extremely thorough quality control throughout the making process and all online orders are checked again before shipping out however, in the unlikely event that the item you receive is damaged we will replace it or refund it at no cost to yourself.

To process the return and replacement of a damaged item, please follow the same instructions above to return the item to us. Once we have inspected the damaged item we will refund you the cost of returning it back and arrange a replacement to be sent to you. In the case that we are unable to replace the item because it is out of stock, we will offer you a cash refund or store credit, whichever you prefer.

 

PLEASE NOTE ALL RETURNS AND/OR EXCHANGES WHETHER DAMAGED OR SIMPLY UNWANTED MUST BE DONE WITHIN 15 DAYS OF PURCHASE. NO RETURNS OR EXCHANGES ON INTERNATIONAL ORDERS, LIFESTYLE ITEMS, UNDERWEAR, SWIMWEAR OR SALE ITEMS (this is in accordance with your statutory rights).
